Travel Talk - Japanese
Lars 2010/12/13 上午 12:56:23

Hi,

First of all I want to say that this is a great app.

A couple of (minor) issues I would like to bring up though.

Is it possible to implement hiragana & katakana (where relevant) readings instead of the Kanji. Often the pronounciation can be quite fast and it would really help if I could read how the Kanji are pronounced.

Second, and related to the above, is it possible to have the hiragana and katakana "alphabetised" as well? For example, write "Te" underneath, where the hiragana for "Te" is displayed?

Third, the information to the major cities does not work for me. I can click on it, but nothing happens. This is for all the cities in the list. Not sure what I am supposed to see, but nothing comes up.

Lastly, is it possible to add a category of "dating" or something in that trend? It is quite nice how to know how to ask someone out in Japanese and for example make compliments about how she looks. That would be great.
Many thanks and keep up the good work,

Lars

Thank You very much for your suggestion. We will take it into consideration, and evaluate the feasibility.

Suggestion

Hi,
It's an excellent app that is definitely worth more than $0.99 !! It's also great with Transitional Chinese version. It seems I can only see the Chinese version by switching my iphone to Chinese environment, and then be able to see the Chinese one. My suggestion is that you could add an option at setting section for user to choose the prefer language. That'd be great for some users I guess.

Thanks again for this great app!

Hi,
Thanks for your suggestion. But, we are sorry that iStar can't provide such option because of the following reason.
The current version of iStar comes with two build-in language resources - English and Traditional Chinese. When iStar is launched, the iPhone OS use the system's international language setting to determine which resource to use. Only if the international language setting were set to Traditional Chinese will the UI be presented using the Traditional Chinese resource, otherwise the UI will be using the English resource. It's the iOS's system logic.

Switch to Chinese

Hi,

I saw the apple store description that the new version included Chinese translation. However, I cannot find where to switch to Chinese interface. Would you let us know?

Thanks.

By the way, it's a great app!

Hi,

The iPhone OS use the system's international language setting to determine which language resource to use. It means that you have to change the system's international language setting to Traditional Chinese first.

iStar for iPhone only?
Stew 2010/6/24 上午 12:32:44

Hi,

I tried out your new release of iStar on my iPod Touch (3rd gen.) and it doesn't seem to work well at all. I couldn't figure out from the help screens how to indicate which way I was facing. The other star-gazing app I'd tried, Planets, makes that pretty easy.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Stew

As we indicate in the application description text,

***Note: The complete navigation functions of this App can only be used on iPhone 3GS.***

iStar needs digital compass, which is now only available on iPhone 3GS, to determine the direction you're facing.
